Ελληνικά: Νότιο μέρος της λεκάνης του Καρστ, «Νεστάνη-Σαγκα-πολιε» στην ορεινά της Αρκαδίας, Ελλάδα. Σε αυτό το μένος της λεκάνης «Αργόν Πεδίον» τα αιγοπρόβατα και τα κατσίκές κυριαρχούν. Εξαιρετικές χειμερινές βροχές πλημμυρίζουν αυτό το πεδίο ακόμα και σήμερα, καθυστερόντας κάθε δυνατότητα καλλιέργειας. Εδώ το χωριό Νεστάνη είναι αόρατο. Το χωρίό βρίσκεται σε αμφιθεατρικά παρα κάτω το ογκώδες Αρτεμισίο-Βράχο «Γουλά». English: Southend oft he Karst basin „Nestani-Saga-Polje“ in the Arcadien highland, Peloponnese Greece. In this part oft he basin, „Argon Pedion“ (Greek for “untilled plain”, the term is used in „Description of Greece“ by Pausanias, 110-180 AD) sheep- and goat keeping dominate. Extraordinary winter rains flood this field even today, retarding any possibility of cultivation. The mass of water, which may form a temporary lake can only be drained subsurface by one single ponor, (Greek term: καταβόθρα). The village Nestani lies amphitheatralically below the massive Artemisio-Rock, “Goula”. On this photo the village is hidden behind the first row of slopes. Only a few white spots in the middle of the image are houses of the village. Deutsch: Südende der Karstebene „Nestani-Saga-Polje“ im Arkadischen Hochland, Peloponnes Griechenland. In diesem Beckenteil, „Argon Pedion“ (Griechisch für „Faule Ebene“, siehe auch „Beschreibung Griechenlands“ durch den antiken Autor Pausanias 110-180 AD, auf den die Bezeichnung zurückgeht) herrscht extensive Weidewirtschaft mit Schafen und Ziegen vor. Dieser Beckenteil wird auch gegenwärtig noch bei überdurchschnittlich viel Winterregen bis in die Vegetationsphase hinein total überflutet. Das Wasser des temporären Sees kann dann nur durch einen Ponor, (Griechisch: καταβόθρα), unterirdisch abfließen. Das Dorf Nestani liegt amphitheatralisch unter dem wuchtigen Artemisio-Felsen („Goula“, Griechisch: Γουλά). Auf diesem Foto liegt das Dorf hinter dem kahlen Berghang in der bewaldeten Mulde verborgen. Nur in der Bildmitte ist eine kleine, weiße Reihe von Häusern erkennbar. |
