Taken in August but forgot about them till now!

Ness Bank in Inverness (just down from the Castle and just a short stroll along the River from the City Centre) - Ness Bank Church stands on side of the river while St Andrews (Episcopal) Cathedral stands on the other bank, at the point where the river is at its widest. The building on both sides are old, and help to add to the attraction of the area. Most of the buildings are now hotels or guest houses - Ness Walk, Ardross Terrace and Ardross Street on the West Bank, Ness Bank and Haugh Road on the East Bank.

In the flower bed outside the Ness Bank Church now stands the "Three Graces" statue set (actually comprising four - there's a bairn too) figures - Faith, Hope and Charity which once proudly adorned the roof of the buildings at the junction of High St/Castle St/Bridge St - but which were removed when the building was rebuilt. Since then the statues have spent most of their time in Orkney, until recently when the Highland Council was finally able to obtain their return "home" and provide a matching plinth on which they now stand.

Either side of the river at this point is well worth visiting (preferably both) and just standing taking in the natural and architectural beauty. Only another half a mile or less upstream is the Infirmary footbridge, so you can easily walk down one side of the river from the town Centre, cross over via the footbridge and return on the other side - an easy and relaxing perambulation! - or you can extend it by keeping going to the Ness Islands, and crossing the River there instead.
