Chronic Hereditary Tropho-edema.—Henry Meige ^ describes afamily in which edema affected eight members, both men and women,distributed through four generations. Four of these cases were observed,and present the same singular affection : namely, a chronic white, firm,and painless edema, appearing at the age of puberty, and affectingespecially the feet and legs and sometimes the entire lower members,generally on both sides. He also refers to a remarkable family reportedby Milroy, 2 in which in six generations there were twenty-two cases.Other similar family groups have been published, and A. Thomasthinks that one-sided hypertrophies of the body belong to the samecategory. The
