The disease runs a protracted course, but may come to a standstill,or it may recede slightly if the thoracic condition is greatly improved.Desmons and Beraud^ report some improvement following subcutaneousinjections of extracts made from sheeps lungs. These may be tender and theseat of spontaneous pain or comparatively insensitive, and the pain maybe quite insignificant. Their favorite location is about the neck, thediffuses Lipoma des Raises of the Germans; o^•er the body, as in thecase of Hugier, which presented twenty symmetrical pairs; in theaxillae and groins; or on the extremities, as in the case reported byMathieu, one pair over the trochanters, one pair on the inner side ofthe knees. The adenolipomatosis of Launois and Bensaude- (Fig. 231)appears to belong to the same group. The ill-defined fatty masses are commonly spread out at their bor-ders.
