| Description |
Namche Bazaar is at a natural cross-roads in the region and has served as the trading centre for centuries. Now it has become the centre for the trekking and mountaineering and has grown considerably. You can get anything you forgot to bring (at a premium price of course) from sunscreen to trekking poles to down jackets. The village is in a beautiful bowl, forming the houses and guesthouses into natural rings and tiers. Open on one side, you also get beautiful views of the mountains out your window. Namche at 3440m acts as the first acclimatization rest day as you go up and makes a good base to day-hike the sights in the surrounding region. It has all the amenities if you cannot live without your Internet or German bakery. |
