Description |
English: Flint short end and side scraper, sub-rectangular in plan, trapezoidal in profile and triangular in section. The distal end and both margins of the dorsal face have been unifacially retouched.
The flint is a toffee colour, and was probably derived from the Somerset levels, and imported via the Wessex chalk. The length to breadth ratio is about 3:2. Bond (2004) illustrates similar examples of end scrapers on page 145, Fig.5.131, No.12, and on page 147, Fig.1.33, No.F167, which are dated to the Beaker period. Late Neolithic - Early Bronze Age |
