Title
Neolithic blade: Flint blade
Description
English: A flint blade dating from the early Neolithic period (c.4000-3000 BC). The blade is made on a secondary flake of a dark grey, semi-translucent flint. The distal end retains approximately 20% brown-white cortex. The blade is retouched around all dorsal edges apart from at the distal end; thinning of the bulb is evident at the proximal end on the ventral side. The blade widens from 7.41mm at the proximal end to 23.34mm at the distal end and has a roughly trapezoidal cross section.
