Neolithic Serrated Implement
Description
English: Buff grey flint serrated implement fragment. Small flake with long narrow parallel bladelets struck from its dorsal side and a flat ventral surface. Very short abrupt retouch probably executed from the dorsal aspect followed one or possibly both long edges, producing serrations which are so fine as to be more readily felt than observed. The development of a thick white patina suggests the object endured prolonged exposure after its deposition. One end is broken after the patina had accumulated, and minor edge damage overlying the putative serrated edge/s is also probably fortuitous. Suggested date: Early Neolithic, 4000-3500 BC.
