Neolithic Serrated Implement
Description
English: Black Flint with cortex. Possible Serrated Implement. Long triangular section flake with pressure flaked notches along all three arises. The probably deliberate working is supplemented by numerous scars caused by impact on these edges, rather than adjacent to them. The retention of cortex is sometimes seen as a trait of Mesolithic material, but here cannot have assisted the use of the object. One or both ends may also have seen use as awls. Suggested date: Early Neolithic, 4000-3500 BC.
