Title
Neolithic : Serrated Implement
Description
English: A complete knapped lithic implement of early Neolithic date, circa 4000 - 3500 BC. The object is a serrated blade or saw which is D-shaped in both plan and section. The dorsal surface has had three long narrow flakes removed and has been notched along the left edge to create a serrated surface. The right edge is flat and steep retaining cortex. The distal edge has also been serrated though to a lesser degree than the left edge. The ventral surface is smooth with visible ripples of percussion.

The flint is a mid bluish-grey colour with abundant lighter inclusions. The object is 44.1mm long, 15.4mm wide, 6.9mm thick and weighs 5.8g.
