Title
needle case
Description
English: A copper alloy container. Circular in section and made up of sheet copper alloy welded along a vertical axis, filed flush. The base is 9mm in diameter. The container is 48mm long, and widens to 12mm in diameter. A lid with a circular knop has corroded into position. The lid is 10mm high, making the complete object 58mm long. The container is hollow, and faintly rattles when shaken, which suggests that some of the needles may still be inside.

The object has an even mid-green patina acroos th body. The lid has a reddish-brown colour showing through the green surface patina. There is some post-depositional damage, including a diagonally positioned dent along one side, and two circular depressions.

This is a crudely made needle holder of Post-medieval to modern date.
