Title
needle
Description
English: The top, or head, of the needle is lozenge shaped in section before becoming circular in section and narrowing to a blunt tip. The hole is a long oval and has been cut into the object cold. A central groove runs down the upper half of the needle on both sides. This style of needle is typical of post-medieval needles, dating to the 16th to 17th centuries. A reddish brown patina showing through the patchy green corrosion supports a Post-Medieval date.
