Description
Nederlands: Het jongste Nederlandsch-Duitsche Grensincident. Kortelings werd de 65-jarige Johannes Kersten te Groesbeek, zijn waren ventende, en verdacht van smokkelhandel, door een Duitschen gendarme gearresteerd en te Kleef in arrest gesteld. - Na een onderzoek van den wachtmeester der marechaussee en het daarop gevolgde optreden van den Officier van Justitie te Arnhem, Mr. J. P. van Outeren, werd de man, die door de ruwe behandeling verwond was, in vrijhed gesteld en naar Groesbeek vervoerd. - Vermoedelijk is het incident een gevolg van al te grooten ijver van den gendarme of van een ernstige vergissing. - Onze foto brengt in beeld het terrein, waar Kersten (zie portret) overvallen werd en wel op de plaats, waar men den Officier van Justitie en den wachtmeester ziet; hij werd van daar gesleept naar de grens (de boomen op den achtergrond); ter zijde en op den weg belangstellende Groesbeekers.
