| Description |
English: Near Skares The building shown on the O/S map is no longer there. This whole area has been trashed by opencast mining so its hard to decide what is original and what has been recent reinstatement.
The opencast mine in the background goes forsome distance in each direction. This landscape has seen industrialisation in the past being a deep mining area. Some of the features that were accepted as being 'natural' may have been man made long ago, so to be fair to opencast mining as long as the restoration is of high quality, perhaps the benefits to the area outweigh the 'temporary' impacts on the landscape. |
