Description
English: Sicily, Naxos. Circa 461-430 BC.
AR Drachm (4.30 g, 2h).
Bearded head of Dionysos right, wearing tainia decorated with an ivy branch
Silenos, nude and bearded, squatting half-left, holding kantharos in right hand and resting his left on his knee, tail behind; N-A-XI-ON around; all within shallow concave circular incuse.
Italiano: Sicilia, Naxos. Circa 461-430 a.C.
AR Dracma (4,30 g, 2h).
Testa barbata di Dioniso dx, che indossa tainia decorata con ramo di vite
Sileno, nudo e barbato, accucciato verso sinistra, con kantharos nella mano destra, coda dietro; N-A-XI-ON intorno; il tutto entro cerchio incuso.
