Summary

[edit]
Description
English: On the occasion of Navy Day, Vice Admiral AR Karve, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command laid the wreath at the War Memorial inside Naval Base, Kochi on 04 Dec 2017 as a mark of respect and gratitude to the martyrs. A two minute silence was observed as the bugler sounded the “Last Post”. The Navy day is celebrated every year to mark the decisive victory achieved by India in the 1971 which was made possible by the daring missile attack on Karachi by naval warships. Wreath laying is traditionally done on all important days to honour the supreme sacrifice made by the martyrs and to reaffirm the nation’s gratitude to all the departed souls.
