Description
English: A view of the naval Battle of Lagos fought on 18 August 1759 between the British fleet, commanded by Admiral Edward Boscawen (1711-61) and the French, commanded by Jean-François de Bertet de La Clue-Sabran (1696-1764), resulting in a British victory. Seven Years War (1756-63).

The British captured three French ships: Centaur, Modeste, and Téméraire which were added to the British navy. Boscawen was appointed General of Marines for his part in the action.
