DescriptionNaumburg Tram nr 25, August 1989 DDR Zeiten..jpg |
The Wilde Zicke tram in Naumburg consisted of a single circular route so finding the depot was quite easy. Basking in the summer sunshine was this LOWA tram, made in Werdau. Very few of these cars survived to the end of the GDR experiment , and I can only think of Gotha and Rostock as other towns where I saw them. Car no. 25 is shown here. Cars no 23 and 29 of the same series, dating from 1954-6 are still in service on the revived tourist route. About 2.5km of the former 4;8 km ring route is now serviced. Abandoned in 1991, the service was taken over by enthusiasts in 1994 and since 2007, until at least the end of 2009, a daily service has been in operation. |
