Summary
[edit]DescriptionNatwest Bank St Helier (89).JPG |
Sculpture on Jersey Banking Company building, Library Place, St. Helier, Jersey. The building was designed by John Hayward in brick and granite, in Venetian Gothic style, and completed in 1873. It has the Jersey arms carved over the door. As of 2017 it was occupied by NatWest Bank. Every sculpture is different on this building. It is in the form of capitals, friezes and label stops. Most of it has been re-carved in the late 20th or early 21st century. A few sculptures were left in their original, weathered state out of respect to history and the original sculptor of 1873. Showing cornice. |
