| Description |
English: Nature wins out The derelict and decaying walled garden of the former Chesterton House mansion, demolished in 1802. The House is described in 'Warwickshire Country Houses' as being 'the most sophisticated piece of classical architecture in Warwickshire' when built in 1657-62. Ludicrously, it was demolished following a family spat over its inheritance - the incumbent had it destroyed rather than see someone else gain possession. The walled garden remains but is overgrown with its structure in various states of dilapidation. |
