Description
English: Advertisement for National Carbon Company carbon rods for use in carbon arc lamps of film projectors, on page 187 of the November 8, 1924 The Moving Picture World. The advertisement uses a Mammy figure, a stereotypical caricature of an African American maid or nursemaid, now considered highly offensive, to hold a carbon rod.
