Description
Looking across Church Square onto a busy street scene with electric double decker trams, horse-drawn trams and pedestrians, stands the historic National Bank building, with its dome and balcony. There are also views of adjacent buildings of the Royal Exchange Assurance and Duchess Corner Tea Rooms. Opposite the bank, just off Adderley Street is the Groote Kerk (Great Church), an example of the Cape Dutch architectural style, with view of the bell-tower. The church is the Mother church of the Dutch Reform Church in South Africa. NATIONAL BANK BUILDING, JOHANNESBURG.
