Shell reddish brown, with twenty-two or twenty-threehigh, rather compressed, rather close diverging ribs, theupper part of the central, and the whole of the posteriorlips covered with close, regular transverse plates; the ante-rior and the lower part of the central ribs with largeroundish or oblong solid tubercles. The hinder slope with five or six nodulose ribs. Inhab.— Cape York, in 6 fathoms. Cabinet of Mr.Cuming. 362 APPENDIX. Anomia Australis. Shell suborbicular straight above, and slightly eared oneach side, opaque white, the upper valve convex, withnumerous nearly regular radiating ribs, which become eva-nescent (perhaps from wearing), near the margin.
