Description
Italiano: Napoli - Carnevale del 1711 tra Largo di Castello e Largo di Palazzo. Autore sconosciuto (attribuito erroneamente ad Alessandro D'Anna). (Museo di San Martino, Napoli). Il dipinto mostra il vecchio Palazzo dei Viceré e (alla sua sinistra) il vecchio ingresso al Teatro san Carlo. La data ufficiale del 1711 viene messa in discussione per fattura del dipinto, lo stile, l'abbigliamento, il soggetto, la festa carnevalesca, ecc. Leonardo Di Mauro ha ritenuto di datare gli edifici al primo quarantennio del XVIII secolo; i personaggi, gli abiti e l’impaginazione invece dovrebbero essere di fine settecento. Quindi si presuppone che l’anonimo autore del dipinto abbia copiato gli edifici da una stampa o disegno di inizio '700 e poi animato con personaggi più attuali di fine '700. E' stata proposta la data del 1771.
