| Description |
l'Esplanade du Lac. En 1856, entre juillet et août, le lac de Nantua a perdu plus de 2 millions de mètres cubes d'eau et a vu son niveau normal baisser de plus d'un mètre. Cette baisse a été provoquée suite à une décision du conseil municipal de Nantua le 10 février 1850. D'importants travaux d'abaissement des bras d'écoulement du lac (1,30 m à 1,50 m) on été exécutés sous la direction des Ponts et Chaussées. La baisse du niveau du lac a permis de récupérer une surface de 3 hectares sur la commune de Nantua. Sur les 3 ha, 4000 mètres carrés permirent d'agrandir le champ de foire, aujourd'hui esplanade du lac. |
