Summary
[edit]DescriptionNanceglos House Trengwainton - geograph.org.uk - 713259.jpg |
English: Nanceglos House Trengwainton Photo taken whilst the property was unoccupied, prior to conversion to holiday accommodation. The history of this house can be seen by careful examination of the wall construction: the right-hand end, with two ground floor windows and one 1st floor window, is the original cottage, with large quoin stones of the left-hand side of this original building visible as the right-hand window reveal of the second 1st floor window; this was then extended up to the first chimney on the ridge, as can be seen from the straight joint in the stonework; there was then a later extension up to the second chimney; the far left-hand end, with the gable, was a separate building which was the laundry house for Trengwainton House and the arrow slit in the gable is part of its ventilation system; the final phase was an infill between the laundry house and the cottage, constructed in brickwork. |
