Description
English: The nameplate of the newly-named British Rail Class 31 diesel locomotive 31271 Stratford 1840-2001 at the National Railway Museum in York during the Rail200 railfest in 2004. The name was chosen to commemorate the locomotive former Stratford locomotive depot that closed to make way for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.

This photo was taken immediately after the naming ceremony, as you can see by th e reflections of so many photographers. I'm the one crouching below the 'o' of S
