Title
Nail cleaners
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy nail cleaner, measuring 34mm in length and 7mm in width. The blade is leaf shaped, and the suspension loop, which is now incomplete due to an old break, is set a right angles to the plane of the blade. The shoulders of the blade are sloping and it tapers towards its now missing tip. No decoration can be seen on either face. This nail cleaner is very similar to those of type 2a, found at Colchester and dated to the mid to late 1st century probably continuing into the 2nd century (Crummy 1983, 58, fig 62, no 1872, 1874).
