Title
Nail cleaner
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy Roman nail cleaner of Baldock Type. It has a leaf-shaped blade and the incomplete suspension loop is set at right angles to the plane of the blade and below this are its shoulders, which taper gently to its split terminal. Both faces of the blade are decorated with a grooved border line. It is c40mm in surviving length, the tip of both terminals are missing due to old breaks, and 9mm in width.

This nail cleaner is similar to Crummys' type 2a from Colchester, which she dates as mid-late 1st-century, probably continuing into the 2nd-century (Crummy 1983, 58, fig 62, no 1874).
