Title |
Nail Cleaner |
||
Description |
English: Near complete cast nail-cleaner, probably of Crummy’s (1983) type 1b, of a mid to late 1st century type (ibid.). The shaft is offset from the suspension loop and expands gently before tapering back to the straight sided blade The expanded upper portion of the nail-cleaner is crudely decorated on both faces with a series of incised roughly parallel paired lines. The design consists of two horizontal parallel lines beneath the suspension loop, before pairs of diagonal lines ’zigzag’ along the expanded body, stopping (possibly bordered with another pair of horizontal lines) at the top of the straight sided blade. The suspension loop is damaged and incomplete and the prong tips are missing. |
