[edit]DescriptionNadine 2012-09-28 0413Z.png |
English: Nadine has reached hurricane strength for a second time in its 18 day lifespan. This image shows Nadine as imaged by the NASA/NOAA Suomi NPP VIIRS instrument's day/night band. This band collects information from the ambient light radiated into space from human settlement and activities and also captures reflected moonlight from cloud structures. Last night's waxing gibbous moon shone enough light on the clouds of Nadine in the Atlantic Ocean south of the Azores in the horse latitudes to see clear structural features of the storm. The image was taken around 0413Z on September 28, 2012 |
