Description
English: Los Reyes Católicos la mandaron construir a finales del siglo quince, de la portada original no queda absolutamente nada

Del antiguo monasterio de San Jerónimo el Real, conocido popularmente como «Los Jerónimos» solo subsisten actualmente la iglesia, convertida en parroquia y un claustro de estilo Barroco incorporado al Museo del Prado En estado ruinoso y deabandonado, la iglesia fue objeto de dos obras de restauración. La primera, entre 1848 y 1859, se añadieron algunos elementos nuevos. En la Segunda, realizada a partir de 1879 a 1882, se acometió una restauración definitiva del templo para su apertura como parroquia en septiembre de 1883. Ponciano Ponzano, escultor oficial de la corte isabelina realizó el tímpano de la portada en estilo neomedieval
