Summary

[edit]
Description Original caption: "
The New Zealand inter-island ferry 'Wahine' sank in the entrance to Wellington Harbour on 10 April 1968, with 51 of the 764 on board losing their lives. The vessel foundered across the main shipping channel, so by the time we went past her on 24 April, salvage operations were already well established.
