Student Max Reinsel describes the mechanical engineering lab's prototyping machinery to NSF Director Subra Suresh who toured Thomas Jefferson (TJ) High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax, Va., as part of the annual TJ Science and Technology Symposium to Advance Research in Science and Technology (TJSTAR) on May 30, 2012. The event is managed entirely by the students. Industry and business partners send scientists and others to participate in panel sessions, career discussions and demonstrations/exhibits on science and technology.
