NSF awarded Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) chemistry professor Mircea Dincã with the Alan T. Waterman Award. The award, marking its 40th anniversary, recognizes outstanding young scientists, age 35 or younger, whose accomplishments show exceptional promise of significant future achievement. Dincã's research focuses on using organic and inorganic materials to develop new, hybrid metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with unprecedented electrical conductivity. Dincã (pictured above) titled his presentation at the board meeting, “Teaching Sponges New Tricks.” Credit: Sandy Schaeffer for NSF |
