PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks. Start of a new adventure, I have a book I made about Fortress Louisbourg but wanted to add more to it. That meant a trip to Cape Breton Island and it was an excuse to go somewhere. This was my first stop, 6:13 am after a three and a half hour drive from home. This is the Rear Range Light that was built in 1963, there were two range lights but this is the only one still standing. The Front Range Light, was replaced by a skeleton tower in 1991. This light is on top of a small hill on the Cape Breton side of the Canso Causeway, and beside the Canso Canal. This is the only lighthouse located in a cemetery in Canada, and probably the world making it very unique. Tower Height: 6.7meters (22ft) Light Height: 14 meters (46ft) above water level |
