This is the end of my day trip, not sure when I will get out to get more pictures. See you all in the future, I hope. I tried to find a way to the lighthouse but couldn't. Apparently there is a road that goes in that direction but ends before the lighthouse - approx. a 6km hike. I tried to see if there were indications of power poles to follow to the lighthouse but did not see any. The Apple River feeds into Chignecto Bay, which connects with the Bay of Fundy. The first light aid in 1848 consisted of two lights exhibited from windows of a private dwelling, it burned down in 1869. An official lighthouse was built in 1870 it consisted of an octagonal lantern supported by a square tower on top of the keeper's dwelling. The present lighthouse dates from 1965, it is a square white tower which has had its lantern room removed (right). In June 2019, the Coast Guard refurbished the lighthouse with the lantern room.
