NROL76 by SpaceX This is the view from the NASA Causeway this morning (Monday, May 1, 2017) at 6:55am, 5 minutes before the launch window would open for the expected launch of the #SpaceX #Falcon9 rocket carrying the classified #NROL76 payload. By this point we had been told that 7:15am was the time they were targeting, and in fact, the rocket would launch at that time, with the first stage landing 9 minutes later. Visible here is United Launch Alliance's Launch Complex 37 and of course, the Sun, bursting through the clouds. Sean, the PAO from SpaceX, upon seeing John Studwell and me shooting this scene, joked that we were pointing the wrong way (the SpaceX pad is to the left).
