Description A U.S. Navy Lockheed NP-3D Orion from scientific develpoment squadron VXS-1 Warlocks, based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland (USA), in flight in 2005. This aircraft was used in the "Bow Echo and Mesoscale Convective Vortices Experiment (BAMEX)". In 2005 VXS-1 used four NP-3D Orion and had a staff of 13 officers, 66 enlisted and 12 civilians. VXS-1 was established on 13 December 2004 and was known before as the "U.S. Naval Research Laboratory Flight Support Detachment".
