DescriptionNNSA-NSO-959.jpg | TEAPOT - BLAST TIME - Two members of U.S. Army Radiological Safety Team take cover during a recent atomic explosion. Following the blast, Second Lieutenant William Ambroner, Hammond, Indiana, and Private Robert Towry (right), Paradise, California, moved forward from their protective trench to check radiation. Only after teams such as these have determined an area to be safe are exercise troops permitted to move toward ground zero. All Radiological Safety Teams participating in Exercise Desert Rock VI at the Atomic Energy Commission's Nevada Test Site come from the 50th Chemical Platoon, Fort Ord, California. | ||||
