Description This T-33 jet-type aircraft is shown receiving a high-pressure washing by airmen at the Indian Springs Air Force Base, Nevada. After each flight through radioactive cloud formations during periodic Atomic Energy Commission nuclear tests conducted at the Nevada Proving Grounds, certain cloud-sampling aircraft at the Air Force Special Weapons Center are decontaminated (rid of radioactive particles adhering to skin surfaces) with a mixture of "Gunk", a grease solvent, and water, in order to reduce possible hazards of radiation.
