Summary
[edit]DescriptionNMU Building from north.jpg | The National Maritime Union Building at 36 Seventh Avenue between West 12th and 13th Streets in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1964 as the headquarters for the union, designed by Albert C. Ledner. In 1973, the building was sold to St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center, and renamed the Edward and Theresa O'Toole Building. It was altered for the hospital in 1977 by Ferrenz & Taylor. St. Vincent's went bankrupt and closed in 2010, and the building is currently unoccupied. (Source: AIA Guide to NYC (4th ed.)) |
