Description
English: U.S. Navy Electronics Technician 1st Class Weylin Wendt, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 7, checks the air filtration system on a ruggedized deployable satellite communications (RDSAT) system while performing routine maintenance Feb. 17, 2009, in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The RDSAT system was a deployable asset that enabled a battalion to effectively communicate with email and phone services while deployed to remote areas. NMCB-7 was deployed to Afghanistan to provide contingency construction support to the International Security Assistance Force. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Michael B.
