Description
English: KICHWA GIRL FROM THE 24 DE MAYO COMMUNITY La niña kichwa de la comunidad 24 de mayo es una representante de la cultura y tradiciones del pueblo kichwa en la región amazónica del Ecuador. Su vestimenta típica incluye una blusa bordada a mano con motivos de la naturaleza, una falda larga y ancha, y una chalina colorida que se utiliza para cubrir la cabeza y protegerse del sol y la lluvia.

Desde temprana edad, las niñas kichwa aprenden a valorar y respetar la naturaleza, y a mantener las tradiciones ancestrales de su pueblo. Participan en danzas y rituales sagrados, y aprenden de sus abuelas y madres el uso de plantas medicinales y la preparación de alimentos típicos como el chontacuro, una larva de hormiga que es considerada una delicadeza en la región.

La niña kichwa de la comunidad 24 de mayo también es una representante de la lucha por los derechos de los pueblos indígenas y la preservación de la selva amazónica. Muchas veces, estas comunidades son amenazadas por la explotación de los recursos naturales y la deforestación, y la niña kichwa simboliza la resistencia y la defensa de su territorio y su cultura.
