English: LCPL-Large Personnel Landing Craft Churns up the water while racing to a sampan entering one of the harbors of South Vietnam. These 36 1/2 foot craft of Operation Stable Door (harbor defense) are armed with two .50 cal. machine guns and can move at a speed in excess of 16 knots. Radar equipped, these boats are used to guard against enemy infiltrations and saboteurs. |
