Description
English: Zr.Ms. Van Amstel heeft in het Caribisch gebied opnieuw grote partijen drugs onderschept, totaal 1.100 kilo. Het was de 3e en 4e vangst in 2 weken. Bij de laatste actie werd vanuit de boordhelikopter op de motoren van een smokkelvaartuig geschoten.

De NH90 maritieme-gevechtshelikopter had de zogenoemde go-fast in de gaten gehouden totdat de Van Amstel in de buurt was. Toen het bootje, na stopsignalen, er met hoge snelheid vandoor ging, zette de NH90 de achtervolging in. Omdat ook waarschuwingsschoten geen effect hadden, schakelde de boordschutter de buitenboordmotoren van de go-fast uit.
