English: At the top is an unfiltered version of the galaxy. Below, three high pass filters set to overlay mode were applied to increase structural contrast. This method produces some artifacts such as dark halos around point sources (see the two bright stars to the right) but I think the structures revealed around the nucleus are mostly real. The banding contours are, of course, an artifact.
