Français : NGC 6888, la nébuleuse du Croissant, est une nébuleuse en émission située dans la constellation du Cygne. Découverte en 1792 par l'astronome germano-britannique William Herschel, elle se trouve à environ 5 650 années-lumière de nous. Cette nébuleuse spectaculaire résulte des vents stellaires extrêmement rapides de l'étoile HD 192163 (WR 136), une étoile massive de type Wolf-Rayet. Cette dernière est vouée à une fin explosive en supernova d'ici environ 100 000 ans.
En bas de l'image, on distingue la nébuleuse de la Bulle de Savon, un objet bien plus ténu. Il s'agit d'une nébuleuse planétaire, c'est-à-dire les restes d'une étoile de masse moyenne en fin de vie, similaire à notre Soleil. Découverte en 2008 par l'astronome amateur américain Dave Jurasevich, elle est située à environ 4 000 années-lumière, à l'avant-plan des nébulosités de Gamma du Cygne (les régions rouges). Ces dernières se trouvent à une distance légèrement supérieure, d'environ 5 000 années-lumière. Photos réalisées à la lunette Skywatcher Esprit 120ED à 860mm de focale sur monture AZ-EQ6 Nikon Z7 défiltré et filtre IDAS NBZII Pose de 5heures en 50 x 6 minutes, 50 darks, 50 flats, 50 bias gestion du setup avec un Asiair Plus. Faite à Hamois en Belgique le 13/08/2024 Traitement photo en HOO pour les nébuleuses, et RVB pour les étoiles. Logiciels utilisés: Siril/Starnet, darktable, GIMP sous Linux.English: NGC 6888, the Crescent Nebula, is an emission nebula located in the constellation of Cygnus. Discovered in 1792 by the German-British astronomer William Herschel, it is approximately 5,650 light-years away from us. This spectacular nebula is the result of extremely fast stellar winds from the star HD 192163 (WR 136), a massive Wolf-Rayet star. This star is destined for an explosive end as a supernova within the next 100,000 years.
At the bottom of the image, we can distinguish the Bubble Nebula, a much fainter object. It is a planetary nebula, meaning the remains of a medium-mass star at the end of its life, similar to our Sun. Discovered in 2008 by American amateur astronomer Dave Jurasevich, it is located about 4,000 light-years away, in the foreground of the Gamma Cygni nebulosities (the red regions). These latter are located at a slightly greater distance, about 5,000 light-years. Photos taken with a Skywatcher Esprit 120ED refractor at 860mm focal length on an AZ-EQ6 mount with a Nikon Z7 modified camera and IDAS NBZII filter. Exposure time of 5 hours in 50 x 6 minutes, with 50 darks, 50 flats, and 50 bias frames. Setup managed with an Asiair Plus. Taken in Hamois, Belgium on 13/08/2024. Image processing in HOO for nebulae and RGB for stars. Software used: Siril/Starnet, darktable, GIMP under Linux. |
