Title
NCL-280524: Roman dragonesque brooch
Description
English: A fragment of a cast copper-alloy dragonesque brooch, c. 75-200.

Only one 'head' or terminal remains of the S-shaped plate brooch. The head is zoomorphic, with a petal-shape in plan with a large boss forming an eye and a curling scoll emerging from the pointed end to form a snout.

The ring around the boss-eye may have originally held enamel, though no trace remains.
