Summary
[edit]DescriptionNCDOT Crews Remove Rocks from Slide Area on I-40 West.jpg |
English: Just three hours after a rockslide near mile marker 7 on I-40 West in the North Carolina mountains, NCDOT crews are already removing rock from the roadway and hauling it off.
NCDOT engineers estimate about 300 tons of rocks fell from the mountain onto the road, which was already closed following a rockslide earlier this week in Tennessee. Some rocks are the size of small cars. NCDOT crews will work around the clock until all the debris is cleared. |
